Artist Bio:

Sharon was raised on horseback in a small Midwestern town in Iowa, shaped deeply by the western way of life. She began barrel racing in the second grade, eventually competing at a high level and winning championships. Over the years, she trained horses and coordinated national sponsorships for the World’s Toughest Rodeo, experiences that reinforced her understanding of the profound connection between the human heart and the horse.

In addition to her life in the arena, Sharon raised five children, instilling in them the value of hard work and the importance of embracing the richness of life. That same sense of richness is something she feels when working with clay. For Sharon, something transformative happens when she prepares a block of clay for the wheel. As the clay is shaped through compression and motion, she experiences a parallel to the refined precision and controlled power she once felt riding her horse. In those moments, she becomes a channel for a creative force greater than herself.

Her work celebrates the horse and the western lifestyle through clay and handcrafted pottery. Using earth and fire as her medium, Sharon creates pieces that reflect the natural forces connecting land, horse, and human. Her art is rooted in motion, strength, and spirit.

In life, Sharon is fully committed — to her love of horses, to the art she creates, and to inspiring those around her. Her work reflects that wholehearted dedication.
