Jessie Pilar, known as J. Pilar, is a painter based in Ocala, FL, who works primarily in oils and acrylics. A lifelong equestrian, Pilar’s passion for horses runs deep – from a young dreamer without a horse of her own to a devoted show jumper and polo player today. After 15 years as a schoolteacher, her students inspired her to follow her artistic dream. Today, she draws from her love of horses, creating work that reflects the profound respect she holds for these animals and the lessons they teach us.
