We’re proud to share a truly monumental milestone for Equine Instincts.
Piaffe, an 8-foot bronze sculpture by Equine Instincts co-founder and artist Tammy Tappan, is now permanently installed at the entrance roundabout of Highpointe Ranch, a Lennar Homes community in Aubrey, Texas. Elevated on a 4-foot pedestal and thoughtfully integrated into the surrounding landscape, the sculpture now stands as a defining landmark—welcoming residents and visitors alike.
A Bronze Sculpture Designed for Place and Presence
Created as a large-scale bronze monument, Piaffe captures both strength and refinement—qualities that feel especially fitting for a growing community rooted in heritage, movement, and connection. At over 2,500 pounds, the sculpture required careful planning, precision installation, and collaboration across multiple teams to ensure it was safely and beautifully placed.
Despite rainy conditions on installation day, the process went smoothly thanks to an exceptional crew and coordination between all involved. Now that the final landscaping is complete and the Texas sun has returned, Piaffe fully reveals its intended presence as a centerpiece designed to endure for generations.
Art as a Community Landmark
Projects like Piaffe reflect what we believe at Equine Instincts: that art belongs not only in private collections, but also in shared spaces where it can become part of daily life. Monumental bronze sculptures have a unique ability to anchor a place—creating identity, sparking conversation, and offering a lasting sense of arrival.
We’re deeply grateful to Lennar Homes and the City of Aubrey for the opportunity to be part of this project, and to Pyrology Foundry for their craftsmanship throughout the casting process.
Looking Ahead
As Equine Instincts continues to grow, we’re actively exploring additional opportunities for bronze sculpture installations and public art monuments. Whether for residential developments, equestrian venues, estates, or civic spaces, these large-scale works are designed to reflect the spirit of place while standing the test of time.
Piaffe is more than a sculpture—it’s a marker of possibility, collaboration, and the enduring power of art.
