Series: Polo Player

Benito’s “Polo Player” is the first painting in his newest series, which showcases riders and their horses in action. While this notable artwork captures a polo rider in motion, it is not in the traditional sense.

“I created the polo rider to capture movement rather than a single frozen moment. The player is shown in three overlapping positions to represent the flow of time, anticipation, impact, and follow through. Each figure shows a blurred motion, allowing the viewer to experience the rhythm and energy of the swing as it unfolds. The horse remains a constant force beneath the rider, emphasizing the power and partnership that drive the motion forward. By repeating the player, I wanted to show how action is felt and remembered not as one instant, but as a continuous sequence.
